HAMBURG, 9th August. The fourth day’s play was spoiled by a strong and gusty wind which' caused erratic play. R. O'. Cummings (Australia) entered the last eight with D. M. Greig (England), as has M. Sleem (India), by defeating Menzel • (Czechoslovakia), 7-5, 8-6, 6-1. In the second round, Fraulein Krasswihkel (Germany) beat Mrs O’Hara Wood (Australia), 6-3, 3-6,-6-4. Miss E. Boyd (Australia) beat Mrs Satterthwaite (England), 6-4, 6-1. In the second round of 'the men’s doubles, Cummings and Moon ..(Australia) beat Mateika" and Schomburgh (Rumania), 7.5, 6-4, 6.2. In the mixed -doubles. Miss Akhursfc and Moon (Australia) beat Eraulein Hoffman and Lorenz (Germany), 6-2, 6-4; Mrs O’Hara Wood (Australia) and Brume Hillyard (England) beat Fraulein Krasswinkel and Heidenrich (Germany), 6-2, 6-4: Miss E. Boyd and Lane (Australia) beat Fraulein. Munster and Thummel (Germany), 6-4, 6-4.
