BRITISH LABOUR PARTY
ITS AIMS EXPLAINED BY MR RAMSAY MACDONALD ENEMY OF COMMUNISM United Press Association—By Eleotrio • Telegraph—Copyright. Australian Press Association.—United Service. i(Received 7th August, 11.15 a.m.) TORONTO, 7Ui August. Interpreting the British Labour Party before the Canadian Club on Tuesday, Mr Ramsay MacDonald said that it stands to fulfil, not to destroy. Ho denied that it was a class movement composed entirely of wage-earners. It was an intellectual party seeking to solve the pressing problems in Britain, particularly unemployment and low wages. It was the enemy of Communism and sought to improve the methods of previous generations without losing sight 'of the British ideal to. do the best for the common good. Socialism worked to an architectural plan. He likened the leaders to a practical man building a house a story at a time, and pausing to correct as lie progresses.
