Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd. have received the following cable from their London agents dated"3rd August: — Frozen meat quotations: Down lamb 28/42 10id per lb; best North Island, 28/42 lOd ; ordinary North Island, 28/42 9|d; second quality lamb lOd ; best North Island wethers, 48/64 6£d; ordinary North. Island wethers, 48/64 7d; North Island ewes, 48/64 s|d, 64/72 5J,d : New Zealand prime ox beef, 160/220 s£d. As compared wiWi last week's quotations lamb is £d per lb. higher with the exception of second quality, which is unchanged. Wethers and ewes all weights are id per lb. higher. Beef id per lb. higher. The market is firm with a good all-round demand, particularly for lamb and mutton of heavy weights.
