SAMOA SETTLING DOWN
A VISITOR'S IMPRESSIONS
(By Telegraph.—Press Association'
AUCKLAND, 6th August. Mr T. Fraser, of Auckland, a passenger by the Tofua, said that business people' in Samoa informed him the atmosphere was distinctly clearer. Some' told him that many of the natives thought to be disaffected were paving taxes more or less secretly, not wishing to create a breach in the ranks of the Mau. A number of Man police in uniform move about, apparently to uphold the prestige of their organisation. Military police, apart from the moral effect of their" presence, do not appear to be affecting the life of the community. In a word, Mr Fraser concluded, "Samoa is settling down." \
