A disastrous lire occurred at 3 o'clock this morning, when the store and office of the Loan and Mercantile Agency was totally destroyed. The firm war. carrying a large stock at the present ''me. Ihe brigade did good work in saving thn benzine shed and adjoining buildings. The Masonic Hall was only three feet away. Luckily a strong wind was blowing, in the opposite direction. The budding and contents were insured, but the company is a heavy loser. A stock, ot oil in the building is still burning, but is confined and it is not expected that more damage will oi i iir.
