AERIAL SURVEY
SOUTHERN SOUNDS DISTRICT (By Telegraph.—Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH. This Day. Next week Captain .1. L. Findlay, of the Wigan Aerodrome, will leave for the south, to inspect the possibilities of carrying out an aerial survey of Lake Manapouri. A good deal of the country in the Sounds district is quite unexplored, and it is possible that Ihe survey will reveal many lakes, waterfalls, and other geographical features which so far remain undiscovered. There is a great chain of lakes in the Otago and Southland districts, and a survey cm foot would take up a great deal of time. By aeroplane it would be a comparatively easy matter to fly from one* lake lo another, and so obtain a very thorough survey. Later Captain Findlay will visit Inver'cargill to inspect the various sites that offer possibilities for landing grounds.
