Speaking at the Anglican Synod at Bathurst, Rishop Long said that one fact abundantly evident was that, leaders of the Church would riot, tolerate dictation as to the forms of worship by members of Parliament, many of whom owed no allegiance to the Church of England or to even any form of Christian faith. Forecasting'what, might happen if the House of Lords repeated its former vole. Rishop Long said that if this happened the Church would proceed on its own in heront, authority to authorise for use forms approved’ bv the Convocation of the Church, and leave Parliament to take action upon the situation. I his would involve disestablishment, to whir Idle though! no political party was anxious to commit itsell.
