HUGE FISH HOOKED
(United Press Association) AUCKLAND. 4th February.. Commander Fnrquhar, of H.M.S. Dunedin, had a most thrilling experience while fishing from the launch Rosemary at Russell. He hooked a black mar lin of huge dimensions, said to be bigger than Captain Mitchell's famous record one, and played it for over six hours, during which time the rod broke. The line was changed to another rod, hut owing (o the heavy sea running, als> the l immense strain, Jlhe line 'chafed through 100 feet out when the monster was being brought in to the launch. Tlio fish was lost.
