TEA-DRINKING HABIT
BENEFITS AND DANGERS EXPERIMENTS 'WITH TYPISTS LONDO;N, 3rd Jan. In an interesting dissertation en teadrinking, Professor Robert McDowall, President of Physiology at the London University, says that a good cup of lea promotes a sense of well-being. This he has proved in experiments with typists. The influence of a really geed cup of tea may last several hours, says Professor McDowall. This is due to the caffeine constituent, but he warns Hgainst tannin as being wholly bad. Itis usually the result of over-long brewing. Caffeine, however, must be taken in moderation. If children drink above four cups a day, tea is likely to produce tremors, disturbed sleep, headache, and «eneral mental inefficiency.
