NELSON AND TAHDNA

The weekly session of the Loyal Nelson Lodge was held on Saturday evening in the 1.0. R. Hall, presided over by Chief Templar Sis. Miss K. Mpy.es. Routine business was gone through, during which attention was drawn to the coming recruiting session. The programme '.was provided by the young members/in charge of the Cnief Templar, and consisted of a number of interesting games in which all the members took part.

The superinfendenl. of the Hope of Tah'una Juvenile Temple reported a very interesting session, of the Temple, held in the Boys' Club rooms on the Thursday evening, presided over by the Chief Templar Sis. Miss Joan Mitchell. An interesting half-hour talk was given by Bro. W. Burrows, of Nelson, on his trip through six States of America, during which lie described ' bis visits to New York and Coney Island, and the many interesting sights seen, including visits to Wall Street, Broadway, the Bowery, China Town and Fifth Avenue Bapiisi Church, where he met and was introduced to John D. Rockefeller,, the then richest man in America. A brief visit to Philadelphia and its great Liberty Hall and Bell was also described. A large number of views of the places visited were shown which aroused keen interest. It was announced that, a prize would be given for the best essay on the lecture at the end of the month. Among the visitors present was Miss Neilson, at present over on a visit from Los Angeles, California, who expressed keen appreciation of the talk on the country of her adoption. Several recitations were given, by special request, by Bros. Bob Day, Allan Mitchell, and Sis. Joan Mitchell. Competitions were announced for next session.
