LATE TENNIS
NELSON TOURNAMENT Late results of the tennis tournament are: — Men's championship singles: Mayo (Wellington} beat Lucas,- i-4-fi) 6-3 t - 6-3. Fodon (Wallinigtod)' bedt Hdiße (Takaka) 7-5, 9-7. Ladies' handicap singles, third round Miss Richardson beat Mrs Duff, 50-46. Miss Wilkins beat Mrs Foster 60-38. Combined handicap doubles, third round: Miss Williams and Williams beat Mrs Foster and Richdale 60-52. Tn the men's championship singles, Mayo and Lucas played steady, being content mostly to play from the back line. The game between Foden and Hume, however, was much more spectacular, there being some especially good net play. Hume for a young player, shows much promises and it, was only Foden's better knowledge of court strategy that enabled him to win. The All England Club engaged Karel Kozoluh to coach British tennis players at Wimbledon for six weeks, beginning in April. Karel Kozeluh won Tne French" professional championship at Nice. He defeated Naduch 6-3, 6-2, 6-4, who elimnterl Burke, the holder, in the semifinal.
