The Wellington Fruit and Produce Brokers report as follows: A good enquiry exists for choice lines of all new season’s fruit, while apples and pears continue in good demand with fancy grade lines having the best enquiry. Nelson and Hutt grown tomatoes are now increasing in quantity with only a fair demand maintaining on account of the recent heavy Rarotongan shipment. Green peas and new potatoes ✓ show an improved demand with advanced values ruling. Recent values are as follows : Pears: Winter Cole, choice, 15s to 16s, others 11s to 14s; Nelis, choice, 12s to 13s, others 9s to 11s. Lemons: New Zealand gro\Vn, 16s to 17s, others 13s to 14s. Apples: Delicious fancy, 14s to 15s, others 10s to 12s; Stunners, 12s to 14s, others 9s to 10s; Doughertys, 9s to 10s, others 7s 6d to 8s; cooking, 9s to 10s ; others 7s to 8s ; all at per bushel. Cherries: Choice dessert, lOsj to 12s; others 7s to 8s 101 b box. Gooseberries: Choice large 5s 6d to 6s 6d; others 4s to 5s half case. Strawberries: Choice Motueka, 8d to lOd; others 6d to 7d punnet. Plums: Choice Early Bronze, 8s to 9sj others 6.s to 7s half case; cherry choice 6s to 7s; others 4s to 5s 6d half case. Grapes: Choice Ilutt glassl«ouse, 2s 6d to 2s 9d ; others 2s 2d to 2s 4d lb. Peaches: Choice Hawkes Bay 10s to 11s, others 8s to 9s half case. Cucumbers: Choice, 4s to ss, others 3s to 3s Gd dozen. Asparagus: Choice 14s to 10s; others 10s to 12s dozen hunches. Tomatoes, Thill ripe Is, others 9d to lOd per lb; Nelson ripe, 9d to- lOd, others 7d to 8d per lb. Rhubarb, 10s to 12s, others 7s to 8s dozen hunches. Green peas, Is 8d to.ls lOd. others Is 3d to Is 6d per peck. New potatoes, 14s 6d to 16s 6d, others 12s to 13s c-wt.
