REST FOR CARDINAL LOGAN

CHRISTCHURCH, Ist December

Cardinal Logan, whose failures eachday at Alexandra Park were the cause of backers’ investments to the tune of £5156 going west, is at present on the easy list. The son of Logan Pointer — Lady Superior had undergone a searching preparation for the New Zealand 'Trotting Cup, in which contest he did riot have any of the luck of the running, but in a gruelling finish gained second berth. Tim race apparently got to the bottom of the big fellow, and lie was not able to undertake serious work till his run on the first day at Epsom, when, although beaten, he. was well in the picture. The race did not improve him, and he failed badly on the concluding day. A short rest cure was prescribed and Cardinal Logan and Dactino were left at Epsom under the care of A. Rattray. They will shortly be put into work again and" given special preparation for the Auckland Club’s big meeting.
