ARRIVAL OF ATHENIC
IMMIGRANTS ABOARD

AUCKLAND, 30th November. The Athenic, .which arrived from Liverpool yesterday, brought 377 passengers. One interesting group consists of 37 young women who received training in England for domestic work. They came out in charge of Mrs I. Richards, the matron appointed by the Government. Mrs Richards is very pleased with them, and she believes that they' are just the typo required in this country. «
Leaving the vessel in Auckland were 125 second-class passengers and 232 third class passenger,s. The former include 47 for Auckland, 37 for Wellington, 1L for Lyttelton, 6 for Napier, 6 for Port Chalmers, and 1 for Gisborne. In the third class there were 95 for Auckland, 85 for Wellington,. 39 for Lyttelton, If; for Napier, 14 for Port, Chalmers, 3 for. Gisborne, and 2 for Timaru. Twenty-one passengers were booked for Australian ports.
