FERTILE
PROVISION IN FINANCE BILL

WELLINGTON, 30th Nor. Power is conferred on the (Minister of Lands under the terms of t-ho Finance Bill to set aside certain areas of deteriorated lands so that experiments may he conducted to ascertain how best they can be brought hack into a- state of fertility. The actual disposal of areas will be in the hands of the land boards. Advances for the purpose are to come out of the deteriorated lands account, and the authority to grant them is made retrospective to Ist January, 1926.
