The | Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated 26th instant, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London:— Tallow.—Market quiet and prices same as last quotation. Eggs.—Supplies are moderate and demand steady. Present quotations are: English (nominal) 25s to 30s per long 100; Dutch, French and Danish, 17s to 28s 6d; Belgian, 18s 6d to 24s 6d; Australian, 20s to 22s 6d; South African, 14s to 20s; Argentine, Russian and Polish, 10s 6d to 16s 6d. Wool. —Sale* continue well attended with competition brisk, and opening rates fully maintained. Hemp.—Manila declined x early this week, and "J" grade November-Decem-ber shipments sold at £4O ss. Market firmer at close and January-March shipments sold at £4l. Sisal; Market dull with small sales at reduces rates. Closing values No. 1, November-January shipments, £35 10s to £36, and No. 220 s less. New Zealand: Small enquiry for fair and common afloat. The New Zealand Dairy , Produce Board has received the following market report from its London agency, dated 25th November, 1927: Butter.—New Zealand salted, 172 s to 1765, x accprding to grading date up to 178 s to 180 s (172 s to 180 s), unsalted 188 s to 192 s (188 s to 190 s), market quieter; Australian, finest salted 172 sto 176 s (172 s to 178 s), unsalted 184 s to 188 s (184 s to 186 s); Argentine finest unsalted 170 s to 176 s (167 s to 1745); Irish creamery salted 172 sto 1745, unsalted 178 sto 180 s; Dutch creamery unsalted 202 s to 206 s (202 sto JWs); Siberian saltSd 158 s to 162 s (156 s to 162s)'; Danish 204 s up to 206 s (208 s to 210 s); retail prices unchanged. English, finest farmers 126 s to 130 s (126 s to 130 s), retail prices unchanged. / Port Caroline damage involves 30,700 boxes butter, about 700 crates cheese. Underwriters selling on behalf of consignees, adjusting difference between sale and sound value on .the usual basis.
