MARTON, Bih Nov. The Rangitikei district; is seriously " perturbed at numerous thefts and burglaries following forced entrances to two houses a week ago, also the theft of two bicycles. A thief stole a quantity of clothing from a dwelling early yesterday morning, the goods later being found under a hedge nearby. Later the night watchman accosted a young man believed to he concerned in the case, but the latter made a clean escape, dodging out of his coat, which had been, gripped by the watchman. Bulls this morning reports two houses. entered overnight, and a small sum of money and also clothing taken from one. The thieves were disturbed in the other, and then made off in a motor car. Several articles of clothing stolen a week ago have since been found on a vacant section.
