"The field inquiries which have been carried out in Now Zealand during the last year include an investigation into cancer by Dr. Fulton. You will remember that Mrs Massey (lnvercargill) gave a donation'of £IOOO to the Olago University, and the latter body claimed £ for £ subsidy from the Government. Tin's was granted. A further bequest was received by the Wellington Hospital Board of- £IOO, which again also drew the. subsidy, so that the total sum available, for the cancer inquiry was £2200, of which the Government has •provided half. Dr. Fulton visited mowt of the districts in Now Zealand and visited all the larger hospitals, and made detailed inquiry at these, institutions in regard to the type of disease, and the actual duration of the disease, the result of operation, etc. His reporthas hot yet been completed, but it is hoped that it will he in our hands in the course of the next two or three weeks.
