TROUBLE IN NEW PARTY
(Received 9th June, 9.40 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. A split is threatened in the ranks of Mr Mutch's followers over the proposals put forward by the Federal Executive of the Australian Labour Party in an attempt to bring rival factions in New South Wales together. The influential section of the Mutch party is said to favour the holding of a unitv conference on 9th July. The other side opposes a conference. Mr Mutch received a letter from Mr Semple, of the New ' Zealand Labour Party, congratulating him on attaining the leadership. Mr Semple added that Mr Lang, an arch traitor, and Mr Willis, were willing tools of those who wanted to smash the Labour movement.
