VOIKOFF'S HISTORY
SIGNED DEATH WARRANT FOR MURDER OF CZAR'S FAMILY LONDON, 7th June. "Clearly Voikoff's murder is an act of revenge," says M. SaTbline, who was Charge d'Affaires at London in the Czarist days, when interviewed by the "Evening News." He added that Voikoff had always been associated with tho Ekaterinburg crime. The "Evening /News" points out that Voikoff was president of tho Ekaterinburg Soviet in 1919, and as such signed the death warrant for the murder of the Czar's family and was actually in the cellar when the family was. shot. Ho had been ever since the most hated of all Bolshevists. One of the original members of tho Russian Communist Party before the war, he was sometimes imprisoned. He went to Switzerland, where he came under the influence of Lenin. When a student at Geneva University he accompanied Lenin to Russia during war time to foment revolution. Voikoff was in 1923 appointed head of the trade delegation to Canada, which appointment was cancelled when his association with the Czar's murder was known.
