TAHUNA SANDS
BOUNDARIES OF HARBOUR BOARD PROPERTY
MAY ENCROACH ON BEACH
Reference to the proposed improvement scheme at Tahuiia was made by the Chairman at the Harbour Board meeting yesterday. He pointed out that a big scheme covering a large area of the sands was at present being considered by the City Council. He thought it was only fair'that the Council should be notified of the areas under the Board's jurisdiction as they boundaries might encroach well up the beach. Between Beach Road and the. golf links the water comes up a considerable, distance, and if the Board put in facines to cause accretion, mieh accretions would remain the Hoard's property. Mr Ledger volunteered to assist in clearing up the position and a resolution was passed that the Harbourmaster in conjunction with Mr Ledger determine the moan highvvaler mark and thus define the Board's area.
When tin's work is completed the City Council will be notified of the boundaries.
