DIRECT SHIPMENTS
EQUAL TREATMENT CLAIMED
FOR NORTH AND SOUTH MAIN PORTS

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Direct shipments between west of England ports and the South Island of New Zealand occupied the attention of the council of the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce last night. The meeting approved of representations being made to the overseas Shipowners’ Allotment Committee that equality of treatment be given to each of the main ports of the Dominion in the matter of first arrivals and final calls of English steamers.
