PROTEST AGAINST ELIMINATION

ASHBURTON, This Day
An indignation meeting passed a resolution of protest against the proposed elimination of the Ashburton electorate, which lias been in existence for 44 years. The meeting urged that if the Representation Commissioners were unable to alter the boundaries the electorate should be named Ashburton, as the town of Ashburton is valued at more than all the rest of the proposed Ellesmere seat in which it is to be merged. .
