DAIRY CONTROL MATTERS

HAWERA, This Day.
The South Taranaki Farmers' Union conference carried remits as follows: —
That the operations of the Dairy Produce Control Board should be limited to shipping contiracts, insurance, advertising, and general care of produce pending sale, without fixation of price. That the word "control" be eliminated from the title of the board. ' That where individual landholders desire to subdivide smaller areas the Public Works engineer be asked to inspect and report to the Local Bodies Loans Board- whether the area was suitable for subdivision and whether half chain roads would provide suitable acThat the Government, 'tie asked[ t'p : : make full enquiry into the causes which tend to maintain the continued high cost of Jiving. . • , That any further revenue for the Highways Board be:raised by a tax on motor tyres. . • . That the system ot changing motor car number plates annually be abolished and that identification discs, as used in England, be substituted. That it be compulsory for power boards to earth wire fences which were crossed by high voltage electric wires.
