MOTOR CYCLE SOMERSAULTS

GISBORNE. 3rd Jan
A sensational incident occurred during a 6ports meeting on Saturday when Morrison, a motor cyclist, was competing in an acceleration test against a motorcar. The cyclist attained a speed fifty miles an h om ', but was unable to negotiate a bend in the course. Endeavouring to avoid an obstacle he turned sharply The machine turned completely round, threw the rider clear, reared vertically and somersaulted. The machine was considerably damaged, but the rider escaped uninjured.
