DUNEDIN,, 27th Dec. There was a good attendance at the opening of ,tlie Dunedin Jockey Club’s Meeting. The weather was fine, but the course was heavy after the rain. Results :

Summer Hurdles, of 225 sovs; one mile and three-quarters.—l Guncase, 9.12, 1; 2 Adjutor, 11.7, 2; 3 Eadiac, 10.10, 3. Scratched: Kaikahu, Kapuna. Won by three lengths, a length between second and third. Time, 3.25 4-5. Salisbury Handicap, of 225 sovs; one mile.—2 Solrose, 8.13, 1; ~6 Tholomon, 8.8, 2; 1 Gold Mint, 8.4, 3. Scratched: Bilbo. Won by half a length, four lengths between second and third. Time, 1.44.

Dunedin Handicap, of 300 sovs; five furlongs.—4 Money Mine, 7.7, and 7 Arrowy, 7.7, dead-heat, 1; Jericho, 8.8, 3. Scratched: Money Peer, Silver Coot, Felony. Jericho was a neck awav. Time, 1.5 2-5. Otago Handicap, of 600 sovs; one mile and a quarter: 2 Set Sail, 7.9. 1; 5 Vnward, 7.4, 2; 1 Overdrawn,- 8.8, 3. Also started: Centrepiece, Ravenna, Full Swing . The winner made a onehorse race of it, and was in front nearly all the way. Won easily. Two lengths between second and third. Time 2.10 3-5.

Trial Stakes, of 200 sovs; seven furlongs: 7 Wingatui, 7.11. 1; 4 Princess .Mafalda, 8.1, 2: 1 Battle Colours, 8.8, 3. Also started: Dark Spot, Ballinagnrd, S.ymuj!, Wise Counsellor, Great Spear, Spean , Bridge, French Belle, Royal Kilt. Won by three lengths. Time 1.30 1-5.

Federal Handicap, of 350 sovs ; six furlongs: 1 Booster, 8.4, 1; 4 Lava, 8.1, 2; 5 Countersign, 7.7, 3. Also started: Loughrea, Comic Song, Coin Money, Receipt, John Bradbury, Script, Arrowmir, Won by a length. Time 1.16 2-5.

Burnside Handicap, of 200 sovs; six furlongs: 2 Mortis, 8.1, 1; 1 Black Duke, 9.4, 2: 3 Lady Dilatory, 8.0, 3. Also started: Blue Dragoon, Overhaul, Lucy "Locket, Lady Tractor, Top Gear, Markbv. Won by two lengths Time 1.17 2-5.
