FLIGHT TO KARACHI

BRITISH AIR LINERS AT CAIRO

(By Electric Telegraph—Copyright)

(Australian & N.Z."Cable Association)

CAIRO, 24th Dec. Two of the air liners hound for Karachi have arrived. The second starter came in first. The passengers are delighted with their experiences. Sir Sefton Jkaneker’s machine was delayed through descending for petrol at Catalonia, Sicily, after encountering a heavy gale for fifty miles from Naples. The second starter accomplished the 390 miles from Sellum to Cairo under three hours

The air liners while crossing the Senussi territory flew the Union Jack in order to avoid possible aggression bv warlike tribesmen who are unfriendly towards the Italians, some of whose fliers met a terrible fate at the natives’ hands two months ago. CAIRO, 25th Dec. Hincliliffe arrived ahead of Brancker owing to the latter breaking a wheel. Hinchliife’s flying time from London is 2965 miles in 1572 minutes; Brancker’s 1715. Both flew over Vesuvius. They resume on 27th December.
