The ‘Evening News” ‘Paris correspondent states that the Maoris are expediting their departure for London, arriving to-night or to-morrow morning. They declare the French feeding caused havoc, among the team, which steadily lost weight-. During the Continental stay Matenc lost 20 lbs and several others at least a stone through the unaccustomed food they had been getting in France. A correspondent says that Matene is anxious to get to England to get some good steaks and solid plain food.
Mr Rutherford, a member of the French Union, says the Union has done its best to ensure that the Maoris receive their accustomed food, but it has been difficult, ns the hotel clsofs are not- used to it.

The Maoris captured the Capital’s imagination. People were impressed by their magnificent- physique and musical talents. Much space in the newspapers was given Wineera's and Denis’s piano playing, Grace’s singing, and the general chorus singing. The team laid a wreath on the grave of the Unknown Warrior.
