CROQUET CLUB Tuesday evening saw the closing games of the Motueka Croquet Club's euchre tournament, interest being well 'maintained to the end. Mrs 15. Atkins won. the. highest number of games, BA, bringing her total for the session lx> 103. Uie, greatest for Any lady cott.tc.it ,>.nt. Mrs Atkins was tnu.s the winner of the lady's priz© for tiw evening and also of the final prize- for the tournament. Miss M. Green was a very close second with 101 J, points. The men's prize for the evening's play was won by Mr C, Skilton with 6!, games. Mr Skilton, having the high total of 112, was also the winner of the tournament prize. Mr A. Stihvell came second with 89 games. Miss Green and Mr Stilwell had missed two evening's play, while the winners had attended every time. At the conclusion of play a dainty supper was served by the ladies of the social committee; and prizes were presented by Mrs Clay (club president). A guessing competition (peas in bottle), van by Mrs Hargreaves for the club funds, was won by Mr D. Skilton, who was the recipient of half-a-doz.m tea spoons.
