ONE FORMED IN NELSON

A meeting J'or the purpose of inaugurating a Women s C.tub was held at iho Institute on Monday afternoon, wimp about 60 of those interested were present- • A.motion that a Women’s Club be formed, was passed, after which if was unanimously decided to invite Her Excellency Lady Alice Forgusson to become its patroness. Tim election of officers resulted as follows

President, Mrs S. A. Gibbs; vicepresidents. Mesdames (-. N . Fell, Ala.rsden, R, P. Hudson. Sadlier and Ro biesun ; committee, Mesdames Belt, W. Dee, Squires, Tratlien. Misses Gibbs, Gray, Gilkison, Hunter-Brown, Nevin, ami Tomlinson

It was decided on the motion of All's Gibbs that the annual subscription for original members be £2/2/-, without entrance fee or ballot.

Another resolution carried on the motion of Airs C. R. Fell, seconded by Mrs Rogers, provide,! that all those applying for membership before September Ist. 1926, be admitted, subject In ballot, on an annual subscription of £2/2/-, wit bout entrance fee. All’s ('note moved and Airs ('. R. Fell seconded, that after September Ist next there be an entrance fee of £2/2/-. An amendment moved by Airs G. Alilner that the entrance fee be £l/1/was defeated, and the original motion was carried.

The committee was then instructed to draw up by-laws on' tho lines of (lie Otago Women's Club and to report at the earliest dale.

The meeting then adjourned till August 4th at 7.50 p.m .
