RICHMOND
OBITUARY
MR THOMAS MARTIN
There passed away at Richmond on the 22nd June, a very old and respected resident, Air Thomas Alartin, in his 80th year. He had been in failing health for the past four months. The lata Mr Martin was a native of Maidstone, England. He lost his mother at the age of eleven. lie arrive?? in Nelson in 1861, and in 1872 he married the eldest daughter of the late Mr John Davies, of Dovedale. The family resided in Spring Grove until about 17 years ago, when he transferred to Richmond. For many years he had been a faithful member of the Church of Christ, “always taking his place around the table of his Saviour” up till the time of his illness. Deceased lias left a widow, three daughters, and one son, Airs D. Ilamnumd (Appleby), Airs J. Eves (Auckland), Mrs H. Griffith (Rai Valley), and Air Claude ALartin (of Taranaki). The widow and family have the fullest sympathy of friends everywhere.
