THE WET-WICKET FACTOR
The history of the first Test match between Eng'land and Australia in England, since the playing of three or more games was institued in 1884, shows tliat ordinarily the chances are divided between a draw and a win by England. Five times this initial game had been drawn, and four times it has been won by England, while Australia has won it only twice. The position is set out thus bv'tho Christchurch Star:—
