FROM TUTANKHAMEN’S CASKET
(By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Australian & .N.Z. Cable Association.)
NEW YORK, June 17
Dr Frederick Cowles, a Fellow of the Uoyal Geographical Society, recently from Egypt, says that" Lord Carnarvon’s death was traced directly, to a poison coating upon Tutankhamen’s casket, and the illness of a number of others engaged in the excavation of the .’comb was also traced to the same source. The poison coating on the casket had crumpled into dust, but evidently had not lost any of its strengtilij. He added that the qualities of this poison, like the gold furniture in the tomb made by ancient Egyptians, far surpassed 'anything produced by modern civilisation.
