VISCOUNT CHELMSFORD APPOINTED

■SYDNEY, June 14. Mr Lang announced that Viscount Chelmsford, formerly Governor of New South Wales, lias been appointed AgentGeneral for New South Wales in London. The appointment is for an indefinite period.

SYDNEY, This Day. Referring to the appointment of l’,erd Chelmsford as Agent-General for New South "Wales until a permanent appointment. has been made Mr Lang said he was opposed to political appointments. Lord Chelmsford holds office on similar terms to his predecessor the late Sir T. A. Coghlan, namely, at a salary of £IBSO and an allowance of £BOO.
