CIGARETTE CAUSES EXPLOSION
EXTRAORDINARY INCIDENT IN SYDNEY

SYDNEY, June 10 Fumes from polish used in the new premises being constructed for the Commercial'Union Assurance Company in (he city, escaped through a window and came in contact with the cigarette of passer-by. A terrific explosion followed and the place was immediately a sheet of flames. Three workmen :endeavonring to extinguish the fire were severely burned and taken to hospital. Extensive damage was done before the outbreak was subdued.
