'I IM'N'DEI! IN WIN'TKI: An investigation into the subject of winter thunderstorms in ihe Kriiish Isles during the three months January lo March. 1925. is being repeated ibis year. While it was found, as a resull of hist year's work, that then- wenlarge areas free from storms during the period mentioned, no fewer than forlysix days on which thunder or lightning fveiirre.fl were reported in England ami Wales. Scotland's total for Hie three mouths was twenty-seven days. and Ireland's twenty-two. The smith coast. and particularly the southern parts of Sussex and Surrey. appear to have been the areas in which there was most winter thunder in England. The central portion of the west coast was the worst suffeu-r in the case ci Scotland.
