BREACHES OF GAMING ACT
PROSECUTIONS AT NEW PLYMOUTH (United Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH. April 1. At- the Magistrate's Court 10-dav live men appeared 011 a series of charges miller the Gaming Act, including the hiving of tote olds, publishing double, charts, and carrying on the business of iir-nkmaking. the last charge only affecting two men, but the police iendered no evidence and the charges were withdrawn. Four pleaded guilty to all the charges and were fined as follows; U. W. Ansford (6 charges) £25; T. E. Smyth (7 charges) £25; T. L. Bowse)! (1 charge) £10; R. Mascall (1 charge) £lO. The ease against 0. R. Ulnmter is being defended.
