T,m fruitgrowers also protest against the proposed increase in duty on imported lemons. Whilst favouring the protection of New Zealand industries they hold that New Zealand lemons cannot, compare with those from foreign countries raid Australia for keeping quality. The increased duty would not only increase the price but practically prohibit a section of the public front purchasing them. It was also resolved to ask the Government to rein ivo the embargo on ('nliferninn lemons as it was understood the disease that wnnanted the embargo was now clear in the districts w'licre lemons are grown.
