PIANOFORTE AND VOCAL RECITAL
On Saturday night last the senior pupils of Mr il. S. Claughton, L.T.C.L., F.C.C.M., and Mrs Claughton A.T.C.L., gave a most enjoyable concert bet ore a large and appreciative audience in the Marsden Church Library. All the items were rendered with, temperament and feeling, and judging by the applause, were greatly enjoyed. The programme was as follows:—Prelude, “La Cathedrals Engloutie”, (Debussy), Miss Mary Mcßae; pianoforte, “Sonata in 0. Minor,” (Beethoven), (a) “Allegro,” (b) ‘Adagio,” (c) “Presto”, Miss Gertrude J’oece; Two part . song, “Autumn,” Mendelssohn), Academy Ladies’ Choir ; piano, (a) “Pierette,” (b) “Autumn,” (Chaminade), Miss Winifred Flower, A.T.C.L. ; song, “Jewel* Song” from Faust, (Gounod), Miss Myrtle Prussing; piano. “Nocturne in B” (Op. 32), (Chopin), Miss Maida Doidge; piano. ‘An Convent,” (Borodine), “Fileuse,” (Raff), Miss Notta Ching; pong, “March Wind”, (Hclmund), Miss Maida Robertson; piano, “The Island Spell,” (John Ireland), M'.’is? Teece; piano, “Sonata in E Flat” .(Op. 31), (Beethoven), (a) Allegro, (b) Scherzo, (c) Minuet ard Trio, (ci) Presto, -Misti Mary Mcßae. National Anthem.
