SERIOUS AFFAIR IN HARDY STREET
YOUNG LADY ASSAULTED An assault- of a serious nature was perpetrated on a young lady while on tier way home from business last evening. \\ lien passing down lower Hardy-street' it is stated that a man accosted her, caught her by the throat and attempted to carry her into a right-of-way. The girl struggled and eventually released herself, her assailant thereupon making off. /tie police are making inquiries into the occurrence.
