MINERS’ STRIKE
LOOTING AND INCENDIARISM

Thirteen thousand striking miners oi the British Empire Steel Corporation are in complete control throughout, the colliery districts at Cape Breton. The strike was declared six weeks ago and increased daily in bitterness. On Thursday in ordei to prevent themselves being overpowered, the police fired on the mob, killing one and wounding several miners. Since then the police have been powerless and looting and incendiarism have, continued A strong military force is being concentrated in the disturbed area.

SYDNEY (Nova Scotia). June 13.
Three corporation stores in the vicinity of Glace Bay were looted and burned by miners on Saturday night, and the Sydney mines store denuded.
The police at Glace. Bay are powerless to inlet fere. Military are remaining at Svdnev.
