CAUSE OF PEACE
AWARD TO VISCOUNT CECIL

NEW YORK, Dec.. 29. Viscount Cecil has been presented with the 25,000 dollar peace award and a medal given under tho Woodrow - Wilson Foundation for meritorious service in the cause of international cooperation and peace. In accepting the award Viscount Cecil asserted that the advance during the past live years in the direction of international . co-opera-tion was little short of marvellous. Praising the' United States for consistently standing for peace lie said he would not- utter a word of criticism ’regarding the attitude of th'o United States towards tire League of Nations. He stressed, however, the accomplishments of tiie League since its inception under the leadership of Mr Wilson, whom lie characterised as a great American and a, great citizen of the world, adding that no title to fame is higher than; that. “Disarmament is the goal to which all intelligent lovers of peace must- desire to tend, but the difficulties in the way are prodigious.”
