Mr T. B. Strong, chief inspector xoi New Zealand primary schools, discussing the stale of the primary school education in Fiji and Samoa, which he recently inspected, states the organisation is running smoothly. The teachers aio .1 happy band, and are being treated hospitably in official and social circles, ino Government is co-operating with the missions in providing training schools for native teachers, and higher primary and industrial training for native pupils. The native?, themselves are most anxious to secure improvement in the schools. Mr Strong also mentioned the success of the Government medical staff in gradually lidding the natives of hookworm.
