SYDNEY, Oct, 1. The Labour caucus carried a vote of complete confidence in Mr Lang. Captain Patrick announces that his new steamship line commences operations on 10th October. General cargo rates have been reduced from 20/- to 18/- by tlie new line.
MELBOURNE, Oct. 1. In the House of Representatives Dr. Earle Page announced that Commonwealth Treasury bills to the value of three million will be issued in London to-day. Two million will have a currency of three months at 3J per cent. and a million will have currency of four months at 4 per cent. ADELAIDE, Oct. 1. Dame Melba has sufficiently recovered from her recent illness to permit her reappearance at opera, where site was enthusiastically received.
