IN THE BULLER
to*— BEST LAND UNSEEN FROM ■MAIN ROAD
A visitor to yesterday afternoon’s meeting of the Nelson Progress League was .Mr Burt of the. Upper Buller. He was there to give some indication of the land that was situated just off the main road near Glenhope on the south, side of tlie Buller. The traveller proceeding through could have no idea of what was behind, and Mr Burt felt every effort should be made to avoid visitors, especially those from Canterbury, forming a- wrong impression. In the two valleys in which lie was interested, the. approximate number of sheep that could be run there was 37,000. A few years ago there were only three settlers. Now there were fifteen beside himself.
Mr Burt was thanked for the information given. The secretary stated that'definite details regarding the other valleys open ing up after leaving the Buller were be ing obtained.
