REMARKS ON THE RACING

CHRISTCHURCH, August 13. Snow shoe and Realm,. who were bracketed bn the machine, went iout hot favourites for the King George Handicap, the big race at the Metropolitan Trots to-day. Hal-Junior, Loganwood, and-Vilo, were next in ,■ demand. Grand Denver began badly. At; the end .of half a mile Loganwood fent to the front, closely followed ’by Childe Pointer, Hal Junior, Snowshoo. and Grand Denver. Leaving the straight Snow-shoe joined Loganwood Childe Pointer in the lead, and-two •fuidongs further on Realm Was in cldse attendance on. these three. At the mile post Loganwood and Snow-shoe were together, a length in front of Childe Pointer and Realm, after whom) came Grand Denver and Hal Junior. Starting on the last lap Snowshoe : dfe-w clear with Realm in olo?e attendance followed bv Loganwood and Childd Pointer: There was little change Nf&r the remainder of the journey, Snowshoe beating Realm by a length; Hal Junior dropped out three- -furlpafes from home, and Childe Pointer finished Tour lengths .away,- third, followed by Vilo and Loganwood.
