SEC't)M) LAIiTiS’'NOMINATi0N DAY The second ladies’ nomination day for the season was hold on Saturday, July 19th, 1924. Fine weather, an enthusiastic gathering and lour keenly and well contested matches, sums up tho club’s meeting and popularity of the sport. The dub and particularly town members and visitors, greatly appreciated tho hospitality of local ladies in charge of afternoon tea. The first handicap of five birds, for first and second trophies donated by Mrs Peacock and Airs Challies brought forward 12 competitors, as follows:M. Cussen, 4 birds: H. Lusty 2: A. Newport 5; H. Pest 4: L. Schrouder 4: J. Smith 1: J. O’Connor 3; H. Clark 2: 15. Harman 4; .7. Stewart 3; AY. Hardy 4’; A. Slade 4, The first trophy went-to A. Newport and second to IT. Best after a shoot off. Best 9 ; J. Carr 10. The shoot-off resulted: J. Carr Ist. H. Lusty 2nd. The trophies went to Aliss Skvring and Airs Hardy. Air P. Best, chairman of the AVaimea- County Council, in presenting the trophies, congratulated the club and shooters on the excellent shooting. Ho was quite satisfied that the club possessed some very fine shooters who would give a good account of themselves in Dominion matches. Tile next club meeting will bo bold on “Spud Monday,” August 4th. 1924. Four trophy matches will he hold, and tho club’s star event for tho season, a gold medal championship.
