The American Legation has not received the Persian Government’s reply to the American note regarding the murder of Consul Imbrie, but a newspaper publishes a letter from the _ foreign minister to the American Minister in which he says the Government and nation are horrified and that every endeavour is being made to find the culprits, who will be severely punished. The Government willingly consents to the transfer of the remains of Mr Imbrie across Persia for embarkation on an American warship, and to defray the expenses in that connection, and proper compensation to the widow. It is considering guarantees of security of American citizens. .
