COLLINGWOOD
On Saturday afternoon, March 29th, the residents of Femtown met in the school to tender a farewell to Mr P. V. McNabb, the schoolmaster, who is leaving the district as the school is being closed owing to the attendance falling off Practically every household in the district was represented. On presenting him with a nice set of military hair, brushes, Mr R.. G. Aslin referred to Mr McNabb’s many good qualities and to the respect and esteem with which he is held by. the householders. Mr McNabb suitably responded. Mr W. D. Scrimgeour, in giving a short history of the school, mentioned that it ivas opened in 3 {>76. many old and respected members of the distinct being on the first committee, including Messrs John Webley, ft W, Rilev. S. Woodfield, the late Jclin Riley, John Marshall, Win. Scrimgeour Jas. Scrimgeour and John Anderson; Mr A. Walker having served for ■34 years as a member of the committee. The ladies provided afternoon tea. which ended a very pleasant afteni6o , * , r social gathering.
