After, a cloudless morning, showers came up with a strong southerly, but cleared again at 11 o’clock, and there is a prospect of the tost being played in a strong southerly wind. The ground is in good order.
A LAND AGENT’S BANKRUPTCY
STRONG COMMENT BY ASSIGNEE

WELLINGTON, This Day
A. J. Scoon, land agent, of Petonc, appeared before the Official Assignee with debts amounting to £1124 and assets of £27, After hearing bankrupt’s statement the Assignee said it looked to him a bad case. There were trust moneys amounting to £IOOO and only £27 to meet them. The, creditors ought to go to extremes. He expressed the opinion that Scoon had taken money, lived on it, and gambled with it. The meeting adjourned, however, without taking any action.
